Daniele Casagrande è nato a Belluno nel 1973. Nel 1999 ha ricevuto dall'Università degli Studi di Trieste la laurea con lode in Ingegneria Elettronica. Tra il 1999 e il 2000 è stato collaboratore di ricerca del Dipartimento di Energetica dell'Università di Trieste. Nel 2002 ha ricevuto dal Centro Internazionale di Fisica Teorica di Trieste il diploma in Modeling and Simulation of Complex Realities. Nel 2006 ha ricevuto dall'Università di Trieste il dottorato in Ingegneria dell'Informazione. Nel 2006 è stato ricercatore a contratto presso la Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia).

Barbara MOTYL is an associate professor of design and methods for industrial engineering at the Polytechnic Department of Engineering and Architecture (DPIA) at the University of Udine. Her current research interests include creativity and innovation methods for product development, additive manufacturing, computer-aided modeling, and design-for-X methods. She is a member of the Product Innovation research Group (PIRG) and conducts research at the Advanced Mechatronics Laboratory (LAMA).
