Ricercatore in Geografia Politica Economica, laureato in Scienze dell'Informazione (1989) e in Informatica (specialistica, 2003). Insegna Geomarketing e promozione del territorio, Sistemi informativi Geografici e Cartografia, Geomatica e Informatica Umanistica all’Università di Udine.

Responsabile di progetti SIT per: - il Comune di Tirana (per l’ottimizzazione della raccolta dei rifiuti) finanziato dal Ministero della Cooperazione Italiana - analisi dei cambiamenti dell’uso del suolo dall’Ottocento ad oggi, utilizzando mappe del catasto Napoleonico, foto aeree, ortofoto, CTRN, Moland e PRGC - i finanziamenti per la tutela e valorizzazione delle minoranze linguistiche (legge 482/9) - progetto MONTAGNA tra Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia e Università di Udine - l’Atlante socio-demografico della città di Udine - WebGis del progetto di sviluppo di un Atlante del Paesaggio - il progetto, finanziato dalla EC GISMED (Medcapus), per la didattica dei GIS e Remote Sensing nelle Università del Bacino Mediterraneo (Tunisi, Cairo e Caen).
Responsabile di progetti TEMPUS della EC per la definizione di un curriculum GIS presso la Facoltà di Agraria della Pannon University (Ungheria) e presso le Facoltà di Ingegneria e Architettura dell’Università di Sofia.
Coordinatore, per lo IUAV, di GEOSYSTRANS, progetto Europeo per la definizione di un GIS per i trasporti.

Currently working on GIS for: - public administration of Tirana, in waste management collection, funded by the Italian Ministry of International Cooperation - changes of land use from the 19th century to-date using cadastral maps of the Napoleon land register, aerial pictures, orthophotos, CTRN, Moland and PRGC - project MONTAGNA between the regional administration of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the University of Udine - funded projects for the protection and the validation of language minorities through law n. 482/9 - the study of spatial dynamics of reconstructed Friuli - research project on the definition and development of and Landscape Atlas. In the past: - coordinated, for the University Institute of Architecture of Venice, GEOSYSTRANS, a EC project for the development of a European GIS for the transport system - EC project GISMED (Medcapus), for the didactic aspects of GIS and Remote sensing in the Universities of the Mediterranean Basin (Tunis, Cairo) together with Caen - EC TEMPUS projects, for the definition of a GIS curriculum at the Pannon University (Hungary) and University of Sofie - Socio-demographic Atlas for the Municipality of Udine.
