Gloriana Cardinaletti is a Researcher at the Department of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Animal Science of University of Udine, Italy.
Education: Master of Science in Biological Science at University of Camerino (MC), Italy defending a thesis entitled: “Comparison of clove oil and 2-phenoxyethanol anaesthesia effects on the physiology and endocrinology parameters in juvenile European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) and Gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata)”. She got her PhD in “Aquatic and Terrestrial Animal production and Product Quality” at University of Florence, Italy, defending a thesis entitled “Captive reproduction of Common sole (Solea solea): effect of dietary treatments on fertility and egg quality”.
Scientific activity of Gloriana Cardinaletti began with eco-toxicological studies on fish model (Carassius aurata) to identify molecular bio-markers related to Endocrine Disruptor (ERODs). Later on, the topics and research activity moved into fish nutrition on commercial aquaculture fish species (Oncorhynchus mykiss, Dicentrarchus labrax, Sparus aurata, Acipenser baerii), as well marine ornamental species such as Amphiprion polymnus and laboratory fish model (Danio rerio).
The most recent research topics addressed by Dr. Cardinaletti concerned on the estimation of the nutritive value of conventional and novel protein sources (eg. microalgae, insects, processed animal proteins) to be used in complete aqua-feeds, in evaluating the integrated response of fish to a new generation of sustainable diets and feeding plans in terms of growth response, environmental impact, animal welfare and fish-food quality attributes by using conventional and molecular tools.
The dietary impact on reproductive performance on innovative and valuable fish species (Solea solea) and/or laboratory fish model (Danio rerio) as well as the effects of dietary additive on stress response were also taken into account during the research activity.
The results of the research activity have been published in 20 contributions in peer review journal articles (H-index 12 citation 484) 29 congress presentations (poster/oral), 2 chapters in international book and six-disclosure manual of Italian funded research project results.

Dr. Cardinaletti has also contributed with her research activity in different founded project at local (ARSIA, Tuscany Region; IRIdea, CRITA, ETPI, Friuli Venezia Giulia Region), national (MIPAF VI Three-year Plan of Fisheries and Aquaculture; AGER2, Network Foundation for Research Agri-Food: "SUSHIN" Cod. 2016-0112; CARIVERONA: "Nutrifish" Cod. 2017.0571) and international level (Interreg VA Italy-Croatia 2014-2020 Program, call 2017 Priority axis - Blue innovation "AdriAquaNet" ID 10045161).
The scientific activity carried out by Dr. Cardinaletti includes training and research activities in EU Country (Greece, Hellenic Center for Marine Research; Finland, University of Kuopio; Spain, Institute of Zaragoza CIHEAM), national and international congresses and symposia attendance. (Animal, Aquaculture, Aquaculture Nutrition, Aquaculture Research, Italian Journal of Animal Sciences). Finally, Dr. Cardinaletti is a member of the European Aquaculture Society (EAS) and the Scientific Association of Animal Production (ASPA).
